Environmental policy
Kristiansand Havn IKS will be a future-oriented port, which takes the lead in the transformation of energy and transport systems, and which through innovation, environmental awareness and resource-efficient operation creates value and contributes to emission-free transport chains.
- The Port of Kristiansand must work continuously and systematically to reduce the environmental footprint of our own operations. This applies to all business areas such as ship calls, port operations, administration and property management.
- The Port of Kristiansand must have a clear environmental profile, and must set aside enough resources to take care of our environmental aspects as well as tasks related to emission reduction and energy efficiency. This means that employees in administration, the maritime department and the operations department must have relevant competence to ensure target achievement and exercise good internal control.
- The Port of Kristiansand must have a systematic approach to requirements and expectations from the authorities, and ensure that these are followed.
- The Port of Kristiansand will work for modal shifts, where freight transport is moved from road to sea, on both short and long distances, and ensure that the environmental advantages of sea transport become known to the general public.
- The Port of Kristiansand will participate in cooperation and knowledge sharing related to development within new solutions within digitalisation, electrification, storage and bunkering solutions for alternative fuels both regionally, nationally and internationally.
- The Port of Kristiansand emphasizes transparency, and we must clearly communicate our environmental status and our environmental goals to customers, the public, the media and other stakeholders.
