Tall Ships Races 2025 in Kristiansand - are you ready?

Kristiansand harbor is preparing to host the Tall Ships Races 2025, one of the largest and most spectacular maritime events in the world. Kristiansand harbor is looking forward to welcoming magnificent sailing ships, their crews and thousands of spectators to an event that combines culture, tradition and international cooperation. Kristiansand harbor is one of five European ports that will host in 2025, and is looking forward to welcoming visitors from 30 July to 2 August.

Tall Ship Races is a regatta for traditional sailing ships and large training ships. The regatta has been running since 1956 and aims to promote international understanding and cooperation. There is a particular focus on giving young people the opportunity to participate as a crew, learn skills in sailing and cooperation.  

Kristiansand as host city

Kristiansand has previously proved to be an excellent host port, including during the Tall Ships Races in 2010 and 2015. Kristiansand port is the hub for Europe and will be Norway's most accessible port with its unique location. Visitors to Kristiansand get to experience the combination of a modern harbour, a rich cultural life and a beautiful coastline. By 2025, the event is expected to draw thousands of people to the city, with activities suitable for both children and adults.

Among the highlights of the Tall Ship Races 2025 is the majestic parade where the ships sail in formation upon entry, an experience that gives the spectators a historical retrospective. Over 4 days, visitors will have the opportunity to board the ships and meet the crew, learn about life at sea and the history of the ships. Kristiansand harbor is opened up and facilitates market stalls, food experiences and activities for the whole family.

Tall Ships Races 2025 in Kristiansand will also focus on the environment and sustainability. The organizers plan to reduce the environmental impact with green measures such as waste management, the use of renewable energy and a focus on sustainable transport for both participants and the public. A sustainable arrangement fits well with Kristiansand Harbour's environmental profile, and here the harbor is already far ahead in terms of sustainable solutions in the maritime industry.
