This fall, we have added extra staff to the port's administration.
Sigurd Anker Olsen is an intern with us. He is currently studying Shipping Management at NTNU in Ålesund. Until Christmas, he will work with us and write his bachelor thesis. Sigurd will get to know the industry he is studying, work in the marketing department and write his thesis on different business models for operating the container terminal.
"It's great fun to be able to see how everything I learn in the lecture hall works in practice. I've already been very well received and I'm really enjoying it," says Sigurd.
Christine Alveberg is a trainee through Trainee Sør and will be in the port for the next 6 months. She has studied political science at UiA and has been a trainee at Agder Energi before joining us. Christine will work mostly with communication and will take over some of the tasks of someone who is going on leave.
For the port, it's very useful to bring in new people who can challenge us in what we do. We strongly believe that they bring more than just manpower to the table and will contribute to making the port even better. We hope they can learn as much from us as we will learn from them," says Halvard Aglen, Port Director.
The Port of Kristiansand has previously had good experiences with interns and trainees, and looks forward to having them on the team in the future.
We hope they enjoy their time with us!
