Vacant position as Port Inspector in engagement

We are also looking to take on more temporary staff on an hourly basis.

As a port inspector, you will play a key role in coordinating activities in the port area and work closely with several key players in the maritime industry. It is important that you are a team player, but also able to take responsibility for your own tasks.
The port guard consists of a port captain, assistant port captain, controller, traffic inspectors and port inspectors

Work tasks

• Responsible for coordinating and invoicing service delivery, cargo and calls
• Coordinate ship calls and berth allocation
• Extensive contact with ships that call, as well as with associated players and partners
• Interact with shipping companies and other stakeholders to ensure seamless and efficient calls
• Follow up on inquiries and bookings of ship calls
• Participate in mooring operations
• Supervision of Kristiansand municipality's sea area and the port's areas on land - both through supervisory rounds and camera surveillance
• Ensure that all safety and quality standards are met
• Participate in emergency response and ISPS tasks related to daily operations
• Other tasks may be added to the position as needed
   

Qualifications

• Maritime education and experience
• Good knowledge of port operations and maritime activities
• Knowledge of Safe Sea Net is an advantage
• Other relevant experience can compensate for formal requirements
• Ability to work in a structured and efficient way
• Good knowledge and broad experience with ISPS, HSE & Office 365
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Good language skills in Norwegian and English, oral and written
• Class B driver's license
