On May 10th and 11th, the Norwegian Cancer Society's Relay for Life took place in Kristiansand – a strong and supportive day where the entire city was united in the fight against cancer. Kristiansand Port, together with Seafront and Pentagon, fielded the joint team Port United, and what an effort it was!
Over the course of 24 hours, approximately 100 runners were on the move – everything from toddlers and strollers to fit pensioners. The youngest participant was only 5 months old and participated in a stroller, while the oldest was over 80 years old. Together we reached our goal with a total of 2,773 laps, and not least: 170,000 kroner was raised for cancer research!

Voices from the team
"It's great to see how many people show up, give of themselves and contribute – both runners, supporters and spectators. This shows how much we can achieve together."
— Atle Johannessen, Port Director
Morten Årikstad, chairman of the board of Pentagon and CEO of Seafront, is a firm supporter of Port United, and when asked why, the answer is simple - "Because it concerns us all."
What is Relay for Life?
Relay for Life is an event organized by the Norwegian Cancer Society, where teams walk or run in a relay for 24 hours – a strong symbol that “cancer never takes a break”. The event is about showing support for those who are fighting, remembering those who have passed away, and celebrating those who have survived. The funds raised go to vital cancer research and support systems for cancer patients and their families.
We at Kristiansand Havn are proud to be part of this important community – and we continue to cheer on everyone who is in the middle of life's toughest fight. Together we make a difference!
