Several new faces can be found at the port. Some have already been here for a while, while others have just started. Christian Erikssen, Atle Kulien and Trine Lauen are the latest additions to our crane operators, Morten Skoglund Fronth is our trainee and Hege Høsteland has started in a newly created position as an office worker.
"The Port of Kristiansand IKS is undergoing constant change and positive development. Our new employees are very important contributions in this context. A very conscious effort to recruit young people with new expertise has worked very well. We now have an excellent mix of young and experienced employees." Halvard Aglen
Our new crane operators come from different backgrounds. Christian has worked as a mechanic/hydraulics technician, Atle as a skipper and carpenter, while Trine has worked as a machine operator. Good colleagues and exciting work tasks are something they all highlight as positive aspects of working at the port.
"I applied for a job at the port because I had heard good things about the workplace and wanted more stability in the working relationship. I'm enjoying it so far. I have nice colleagues from many different disciplines, and have been well received. Looking forward to many good years with this team." Christian
Morten comes from Trainee Sør and has previously worked at Nye Veier and Agder Fylkeskommune. There he worked with the preparation of accounts for the circular economy, advising companies on climate issues and in other projects such as Blått Forum and Havvind.
"Being a trainee at the port is incredibly fun and educational. I've been very well received, and I get to be involved in everything! My main task will be to create an action plan for the strategy that was launched in 2020. Right now I'm preparing a KPI set that will be used as a measurement tool in the years to come." Morten
Hege is our new office employee and will be everywhere. From welcoming visitors at the harbor guard, to invoice processing and social media; quite simply our new potato.
"I applied for the position because I heard a lot of positive things about the employees, and I could confirm that this was true early on. It's incredibly fun to be able to be involved in so much of what's going on, and I've felt included from the very beginning. With many opportunities for professional and personal development, I feel I've come to the right place." Hege
We appreciate our newest employees and hope they will be with us for a long time. Welcome!
