The project is an important part of the port's long-term work to strengthen capacity, efficiency and future handling of containerized goods in Kristiansand. There has been great interest in the market. A total of eight general contractors have requested to be qualified for the competition.

In the announcement of the procurement in December, it was stated that the Port of Kristiansand would proceed with between three and five bidders. After completing the evaluation of the submitted basis, it has been decided to invite five contractors to proceed to the tender phase.

These are:

• Isachsen Construction AS
• NRC Norway AS
• Repstad Construction AS
• Risa AS
• TT Construction AS

– We are satisfied with the interest in the project and with having five well-qualified general contractors continue in the competition. This provides a solid basis for a good tender phase and further progress, says Technical Director at Kristiansand Port, Harald J. Solvik.

Important step in the development of a new container terminal

The preparation of the back areas on Kongsgård /Vige is a key initiative in the development of a new container terminal and in the work to establish a more efficient and future-oriented terminal structure in the Port of Kristiansand. The project includes both the preparation of areas and the establishment of the necessary infrastructure for terminal operations.

Once the tender phase has been completed, the Port of Kristiansand will evaluate the tenders before making a final selection of contractor.

– The goal is to sign a contract by the end of March. Then we will be well positioned to move forward with the realization of the project, says Solvik.
