  1. Why is the port conference the place to be every August?
The annual Port Conference in Kristiansand at the end of August brings important information from authorities and industry that helps us in Port Norway to set the right direction for both our own and joint activities. At the same time, the ports have the opportunity to shine a spotlight on many of the challenges that the industry faces in terms of organization, financing and operation. The conference also provides an opportunity to build networks and meet colleagues and customers in an informal setting both before and after the conference.

  2. What do you think will be the most important question to ask during this year's port conference?
What role do the authorities want public ports to have in the future, and how should national development and financing of these ports, which are locally owned and have poor municipal finances, be ensured?

  3. What would you say to a maritime player who is wondering whether they should sign up?
At the Port Conference you will meet many like-minded people within the maritime industry and port Norway. You will receive a lot of information that will increase your knowledge and create motivation for further work in your own company.

  1. Why is the port conference the place to be every August?
This is the meeting place where I meet the most port colleagues during the year and other stakeholders with common interests. It is a professionally strong program that gives you insight into common challenges and trends for the industry, among other things.

  2. What do you think will be the most important question to ask during this year's port conference?
How to achieve cross-political agreement that gives the ports unpredictability in relation to large investments? For example. E134 is a main artery on the way to our freight port and when this is an element in a political election campaign, it does not give us the predictability we need and becomes a concern. We have solved this, but it requires more involvement and resources than it should have been. This is related to the cross-political anchoring of elements in the NTP. We need greater interaction and agreement between municipalities, county, state and port, regardless of political rule. This also applies to energy and other infrastructure.

  3. What would you say to a maritime player who is wondering whether they should sign up?
Sign up and take part in the discussions! This is a meeting place worth prioritizing.

Why the harbor conference is the place to be every August
The port conference is the kick-off for the fall with good port colleagues for me. Relevant current topics that are good to include in a busy everyday life, which often leads to good collaborations afterwards.

What do you think will be the most important question to ask during this year's port conference?
Who is the customer of the ports, what is required and expected of us now and in 5 to 10 years.

What would you say to a maritime player who is wondering whether they should sign up?
Join us to gain an understanding of everything that happens in and around the ports.
