Practical information

Welcome to Kristiansand!

The Port Conference is held every year in Kristiansand.

Kristiansand is a city with 116,000 inhabitants and is Norway's sixth largest city by population. The city is named after King Christian IV, who founded the city of Christianssand in 1641. In 1877, the spelling was changed to Kristiansand.

Kristiansand is known for its beautiful location by the sea. With its lovely beaches, mild climate and relaxed atmosphere, the city offers a sense of summer idyll all year round. Here you'll find a variety of concerts, art and great dining and shopping experiences. A diverse business community and world-class clusters provide exciting career opportunities. The Kristiansand region has a long and proud industrial tradition and has engaged in international trade for centuries.
